Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How is the puppy shipped?

A: We offer two shipping options:

Airlines Shipping: Shipping is available to all destinations across the United States. Shipping costs include airfare, a puppy’s crate (pet taxi), a vet health certificate, and a puppy care packet with familiar food and care instructions. A nanny accompanies the puppy throughout the journey, ensuring their well-being. Shipping costs range from $100 to $200, depending on the destination.

Specialized Ground Service: Alternatively, we offer delivery by van to your doorstep using a pet transport service. This service is available for all destinations, but it is more expensive than air shipping due to the distance and location.

Q: Is shipping really safe for the puppy?

A: Shipping a puppy may seem concerning, but rest assured that it is a safe and comfortable process. We have years of experience ensuring that all puppies are well cared for during their journey. Puppies are fed, hydrated, and have a cozy bed in their crate for comfort. They are accompanied by a nanny who stays with them throughout the delivery. We also track the flight details to keep you updated. The airlines prioritize pet safety, and we take every step to ensure the puppy’s comfort during the trip.

Q: What about shipping in the winter? Is it too cold for the puppy?

A: Puppies can be safely shipped in temperatures ranging from 20°F to 85°F. All puppies are flown in the belly of the plane, where the temperature is maintained at around 70°F, ensuring a comfortable environment. Airlines adhere to temperature guidelines to protect pets. If temperatures are too extreme, we will delay shipping or adjust the timing to ensure the puppy’s safety. Additionally, some pet transport services use temperature-regulated crates, which offer extra protection during travel.

Q: Can I travel to pick up my puppy?

A: Yes, you are always welcome to travel to pick up your puppy directly from our location. Airlines usually do not charge extra fees for traveling with a puppy, but some may have additional charges. Please check with your airline for their specific policies.

Q: Does my puppy need vaccines when I pick it up?

A: Your new puppy is up to date on all necessary vaccinations before leaving our home. It is recommended not to administer any new vaccines within the first 14 days of arrival. Many vets may suggest additional vaccines, but it is important to allow your puppy to adjust to their new environment first. A general vet check-up should be done within 48 hours of arrival. If any health issues arise, we are committed to either providing a new puppy or issuing a refund if no other puppies are available.

Q: Any recommendations on which vet to use?

A: We recommend using small-town vets, as they tend to have a more personal approach to care and are usually more affordable. Be sure to check online reviews and ask for recommendations in your area. We advise against using Banfield Hospitals or VCA Hospitals, as we’ve seen issues with over-medication, misdiagnosis, and high vet bills at these locations. Your warranty may be void if you take your puppy to these establishments.
